Role Overview
As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining web solutions that meet client requirements. You will work on both front-end and back-end development, leveraging your expertise in PHP and WordPress alongside modern frameworks and technologies. Your contributions will help drive business growth and enhance user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Full Stack Development: Build, optimise, and maintain robust web applications and websites using PHP, WordPress, and related technologies.
- Front-End Development: Create responsive, user-friendly interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Vue.js.
- Back-End Development: Develop scalable server-side logic and APIs, ensuring seamless integrations with third-party systems.
- WordPress Expertise: Develop plugins, and core functionalities to meet unique project requirements, integrating with API’s and other systems.
- Code Review: Ensure the quality, consistency, and security of code by reviewing and testing contributions from other developers.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior developers, provide guidance, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning within the team.
- Client Engagement: Work closely with clients to understand their vision and translate it into technical solutions that exceed expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in full stack development
- Strong proficiency with PHP (Laravel and wordpress) and Python
- Strong front-end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Working knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js
- DevOps experience managing live services
- Solid understanding of Linux server administration and cloud hosting
- Comfortable with databases and writing SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and balance priorities
- A pragmatic can-do mindset with a passion for quality, security, and performance
- Must be based in Northeast of England
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with Metabase, Highcharts, or data visualisation tools
- Drupal
- Familiarity with managing backups, SSL, and performance monitoring
- Interest in AI tooling and workflow automation
- Knowledge of cloud services like Digital Ocean, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
